– Why do I need a Graduation Photoshoot?
As the schooling chapter in your life closes and the next new exciting adventure awaits you, it is surely the best way to celebrate this milestone with a photoshoot. It is also a great way to thanks you parents for their love and support all these years. Not to mention, getting a great Portrait to adorn the wall of your parent’s house!
– How much is a Graduation Photoshoot?
There’s no fix cost for it. There are photographers charging ninety-nine for solo pictures to reputable studios charging thousands for a Graduation Photoshoot. It largely depends on your preferences as well as budget. Oh Dear Studio’s rate starts from $390 for the photography session.
– When should you take Graduation Pictures?
Ideally your Graduation session should be organised shortly after your Graduation Ceremony. This way, the photographs can preserve the correct moments. Professional Corporate Headshots can also be photographed during your Graduation Photoshoot. Having said that, we do have clients who ‘waited’ for their younger siblings (to graduate) and then have the shoot together.
– How do you shoot a Graduation Photo?
Graduation Portraits in Oh Dear Studio are crafted with a unique blend of Natural Light and Studio light in our colonial shophouse studio. We believe the photographs should be natural and candid, speaking of happiness and hopefulness. Hence no stiff poses or fake props, that’s our promise to you!
A Graduation Photoshoot with us will also include your parents and furkids(if any!).
– What do I wear for Graduation Photos?
Formal wear is strongly recommended. For ladies, you should have light makeup on. A dark colour formal dress, button blouse with pants/skirt is good. For the gentlemen, do be in formal shirt and pants, a tie is recommended. Do be clean-shaven with neatly styled hair.
– Do I need to smile for Graduation Pictures?
There’s no fixed rule for it. If you prefer not smiling, there are plenty of pretty cool unsmiling photographs as well!
– Where is a good place to take Graduation Photo?
Greenery typically looks very good for any kind of shoot. Have a look at this outdoor Graduation Photoshoot we shot at Gardens By the Bay. Some of my personal recommendations are:

– Do I need props for Graduation Photoshoot?
Our belief is that a photograph should be about the mood and interaction between family members., hence props are secondary. A smile (or hug!) is the best prop for photographs! Do, of course, feel free to bring in any props you would like to include. Eb, scrolls, certifications, teddy bears or even bouquet of flowers!
– Should I wear makeup for my Graduation Photos?
Yes, ladies should have light makeup on during their Graduation photoshoot. Nothing too dramatic, just some simple blusher and lipsticks are sufficient. It is more to add some colours! Gentlemen do not need makeup.
– Are Graduation Gowns provided?
Yes! Oh Dear Studio do provide generic black Graduation gowns with coloured hood/slash and mortar boards. Just let us know before your shoot so we could prepare it for you!
