It is that perfect blend of great studio vibe, and the right photographer which can produce amazing pictures that you can hang on your wall in frames or on canvas; or compile in intimate, custom-designed albums which you can pass down from generation to generation.
Oh Dear studio is known to be one such place where you can get all this done. Over time, clients have posed questions to the studio owner on topics ranging from pricing, expertise to finished products. Read on to see if these FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) can help you make up your mind.
Q – How is Oh Dear Studio unique and different from others?
Oh Dear Studio is housed in a really unique and beautiful conservation shophouse, apart from the standard studio backdrop, we shoot within our natural environment, capturing really natural pictures with a home-setting. Our studio is furnished in colonial-style furnishing with a vintage flair. Melody shoots with a unique approach, called ‘Engage-and-play’; interacting with clients while shooting and hence resulting in really natural pictures.
Q – What kind of products can I get from Oh Dear Studio?
We can produce almost every display available commercially in the market. This can range from soft copies, photographic prints, canvas, frames, custom-made photo albums, to even metal prints. See more details here!
Q – Can you do other shoots like Food/product/architecture etc?
While my expertise lies in human portraits, yes! I have actually shot a few of these in the past years. Each style requires a different skill-set and this studio is able to deliver these shoots with high-quality professionalism.
Q – In this digital age, why do we still need to print images out on traditional photo prints, frames or canvas? Can’t I just store them my phone?
There is a particular emotional value attached to cherished memories captured on physical displays that digital images just cannot match. Besides, everyone knows how easy is it for soft copies to be lost or corrupted.
Q – My friends/family owes a DSLR. Why should I hire you? I can just get him to shoot me.
It is all about the experience a professional photographer has behind the lens, and how they can plan/produce and capture the perfect images. There is also the considerable behind-the-scenes quality work provided during post production that most laymen will not have the expertise, time or equipment for.
Q – A freelancer is charging me only $80 for the shoot. Why do your packages start from $390 instead?
Freelancers are usually small start-ups or students who have just started out in this trade. They do not have to pay for studio rental and their financial obligations are minimal, and they are at best doing this on a part-time basis. Most importantly, they often lack the expertise which a professional photographer with more than 13 years of experience possesses.
Q – You have already captured the pictures in your camera. Why not just give them all to me?
Professional post-production work is also factored into the package price. The raw images captured will still need to be refined, adjusted and processed to remove flaws and double images.
Q – Why does my wedding photographer return me everything, and including all pictures and you don’t?
There are vast differences between event and portraiture photography. During events, no direction, rental and minimal props are required. Many shots are candid and natural, but can turn out either way. Portraits are the direct opposite. They also require more post-production work.
Q – How do I know I will like your photographs?
I believe A picture is worth a thousand words. My work speaks for itself. Check out my gallery here as well as what past clients have to say about Oh Dear Studio, Review here.
