Best Time for Maternity Photoshoots
We recommend between 28-36 weeks (months 7-8) when the bump is nicely rounded, and you are feeling not too heavy yet.
Best time of the day for outdoor maternity photoshoots are: weekdays early mornings 8AM / 8:30AM. The sun is soft and warm, plus there’s not much crowd. Also, should it be rainy, we can always postpone the shoot to a later time of the day!
Evening 5PM / 6PM is a great timing for outdoor photoshoots too. The golden hour’s sunlight is bright and creamy.
What to wear for Outdoor Maternity photoshoots
- Suggested Colour: White, Peachy, Earthy Tone such as brown or green.
For a more striking visual: Red. - Suggested Style: white tube tops, flare skirts, or fitted styles that show the bump (ribbed dresses, bodycon knits) and flowing options (chiffon, gauze) for movement.
Avoid wearing outfits with huge logos or slogans, distracting neon colours, dresses without any cuttings

- No permit needed for casual family/maternity photoshoots (only commercial photography requires permits)
- Gallop Extension is pet-friendly so bring your furkids along!

Why Gallop extension is a great location for your outdoor maternity photoshoot
Having shot there since it’s opening (during 2021), Gallop extension has never disappoint. The lighting and greenery there are perfect for photographs. The crowd is a-lot more manageable than the main garden. Toilets are easily accessible. There’s even a playground right in the park itself for the children’s entertainment after shoots!
All in all, I think it’s a great location for Maternity & Family Photoshoots. 10/10 recommended!
